Advantages of Napping
Although there is no siesta habit in Europe, when you do it correctly, you can enjoy its benefits. The nap tends only to be associated with babies and younger children. However, even at the youngest ages, when the nap is very long, it ends up harming the night's sleep causing the children to fall asleep later than would be desirable.
At the Energy Level
Napping can be very beneficial especially when you are overworked. This way, you can gain more energy as well as improve your cognitive resources. However, you must always pay attention to the duration of the nap. A nap that is too long can cause you to wake up with more sleep than you had before going to bed
At the Stress Level
When you have a problem, there is nothing like sleeping on it to have the answer you are looking for in the morning. This is a maxim taught to us by our elders and has its very raison d'être. After all, while we sleep, our brain works at the level of emotional processing. So, when you feel in an overwhelming environment, nothing better than taking a nap.
At the level of creativity
When you can take a good nap in which you can complete a REM sleep cycle, your brain will be able to form new connections which will improve your creativity.
How to Optimize Your Nap?
If you want to have a nap in your daily life or if you want to find out how you can optimize it, follow these steps:
If you suffer from insomnia, you should not take a nap even if you are very tired.
Your nap should last between 20 to 30 minutes. In this way, you will be able to recharge your energies.
There are some sleep specialists who advocate that in order to take full advantage of the nap, it must be done before 3 pm.
If you have decided that you want to start taking a nap, you should do it at the same time every day.
The nap should never precede your night's sleep. There should be an interval of at least 6 hours between the two.
